Our yoga hikes take the goodness of the yoga studio outdoors to take advantage of the healing effects of nature. Our hikes take place in the unique environment of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Students will learn about the local environment while hiking and enjoying an outdoor yoga practice and nature-based meditation. We will tune in to Mother Nature and allow her encourage us to engage in mindfulness throughout the duration of our time together.
We also will be incorporating moonlit hikes and/or star-gazing meditation events into our schedule in accordance with the monthly full moons!
Nothing beats a yoga-hike, except perhaps, a yoga-paddle! During a yoga-paddle, we enjoy many of the same elements of our yoga-hikes as we navigate waterways pf the Pine Barrens by kayak. In addition to the peacefulness of the forest, the rivers offer a tranquil setting in which to observe native birds, fish, turtles and other wildlife. We will stop at a beach for our yoga class and lunch and peacefully meditate as we float among the lily pads. If we are lucky and the tides align just right with the sun and the moon, we might just get to enjoy a sunset or moonrise as we end our paddle together.
We also will offer select opportunities for Stand-Up Paddleboard yoga this season!
For those who want to immerse themselves in the yoga/mindfulness lifestyle for more than a few hours, the yoga-camping trip is for you! We will spend one or two nights (depending on the trip) at one of New Jersey's campsites - we choose a variety of locations so that we may offer our clients a wide variety of experiences.
For those yogis who prefer a "glamping" experience, some of the sites we visit include cabins, bunk beds, electricity, shared bathroom facilities and so on. And for the rustic yogis who like to rough it, we also visit backwoods campsites that lack many of our every day luxuries. Some sites will be reachable only by hiking or kayaking!
Meals are provided for the duration of the trip (food allergies and diet restrictions will be taken into consideration). All of our camping trips include yoga classes, mindfulness and meditation sessions and additional programming. Depending on our location, the weather and time of year, we may be able to enjoy a campfire together!
Yoga After Dark!
We have created something special for those who appreciate the monthly full moon, stargazing on clear nights and don't want to miss the two most noteworthy meteor showers that we will have an opportunity to view this year (the Perseids in August and Geminids in December)!
